Exploring Taichung
Yesterday afternoon, to celebrate the fact that I now have wheels (image 2), and to make me feel better about being broke because of it, I took a 100 km or so ride around Taichung. Destination 1 (image 1) was Metropolitan Park, a huge (by Taiwanese standards) recreational area on the western edge of the city, where I managed to get a view of a suprisingly good sunset.
Stop 2, much further North, was Taichung Airport (I didn't even know Taichung had one), a small but neat looking port that looks more like a train station than an airport.
By this time, darkness was setting in, so I took the long drive South East back into urban Taichung, where I stopped to take a look at the newly (for me at least) constructed, and I think pretty impressive park in the smarter central western side of the city (last 2 images).
